Understanding and Changing Bad Moods
We often think bad moods are out of our control, this isn't true. Moods are very much based on memory - neurological, physical manifestations that occur unconsciously. And we can affect these through intentional changes and practice to retrain this neuro-network.
I want you to think about someone you love who loves you for a moment.
Really think about them.
You can think about an experience with them, or just about them. You might get a visual manifestation as well, really allow yourself to have the experience fully of loving and being loved. Notice how you FEEL when you THINK about them.
Now consider the fact that our minds are thinking and feeling constantly even when we are not focused on this experience and we can see how powerfully our thoughts, images and feelings are interconnected.
This unconscious experience creates our inner world and also in many respects creates our outer experience. Think about someone you love embracing you and loving you unconditionally and notice how it changes your mood. Now that good mood will affect your day and if you choose to stay in a good mood, it will continue to affect your day.
Now think of someone you are really frustrated with. Notice how that frustration is connected to your thoughts, feelings and the images you get.
Notice as well that you have a PHYSICAL representation that occurs when you are thinking something. That's the mind-body link we all talk about.
So what if you could affect this link?
What if you could, in fact, change every aspect of it?
You can, and here are three+ ways:
- Make a choice to spend a certain amount of time each day consciously focusing on good feelings. You may even make a list of some memories you wish to focus on each day and keep them by your desk/ mirror, etc. to remind you.
- If there are people in your life that you feel trigger feelings other than those you wish to have, either choose to work on the relationship and find a new way to be together, or focus on yourself to release the inner triggers (more on this type of change here innermanifesting.com or traumareleasemethod.com).
- List 5 things that put you in a good mood and make a pact with yourself to do at least one per day.
- Bonus way: Keep integrity with your word to YOURSELF! So often we think integrity to our word is about what we say to others, but if we don't keep our word to ourselves, we are unconsciously telling ourselves we are unimportant. Self-integrity is critical for self-esteem and a happy life. Be good to yourself, and honor your self-commitments and watch your good moods increase! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Since 1990, Jenifer has been working with individuals and businesses, empowering them in manifesting their goals and connecting to their deeper, intuitive selves/souls.
