Recipe for Almond Milk
Almond milk is very easy to make and delicious. Many of the ones over the counter have a lot of additives, this is what I make at home, hope you enjoy!
Hugs,
Jen
INGREDIENTS
1 cup raw organic almonds that have been soaked overnight in the fridge for 8 hours
4 cups filtered water
As a sweetener, I use dates but I’ve also used agave nectar – if dates I use 6-8 depending on size and if the nectar 1/4 to 1/3 cup depending on taste. If I do the agave route, I usually add a dash of kosher salt to stabilize the taste.
I love vanilla and cinnamon so I usually do a tspn of each as well.
The above makes about 3 cups of almond milk if strained, about 4-5 if not. This can vary a bit.
HOW TO MAKE THE MILK
Blend all of the above either on high in a regular blender or a VitaMix if you have it for about 60 seconds.
For those who like it this texture, you are done! For those who like it a little smoother, you can strain it with cheesecloth or a nut milk bag.
ENJOY! I find it stays well in the fridge up to 5 days, though it really doesn’t usually last past 2.
