Creating Your World Consciously

Each day we make decisions on how will our world and our life will manifest. From conscious decisions on what to wear which offers a mirror of what we are to the world and ourselves, to sometimes less conscious decisions of what we say and how we hold our bodies, every move we make, consciously or unconsciously It’s a powerful thing to have that much influence over our lives, and an honor as well our world.

Let's look at how this power can positively affect your world and how you can learn and grow by the decisions you make and the meanings they can create in your world.

Let’s say that you are a single person living alone in a house. You get up at 6:45 each morning and turn on the television to the news, get the paper out, and drink your coffee while you take in the day’s events. By 8:00 AM when you’re ready to leave for work you have already learned of the twenty people murdered in Greece, the women raped in south America, the hurricane that killed 1000 including women and children, and the little girl who was accidentally killed her cat with a handgun.

Now you may say that you didn’t create these situations directly but they are on the news. I will get to that level of manifesting another time. For now my response would be yes but you did choose your first what experience of the day will to be one of sadness, anger, grief and loss. You also chose to take in a brutal images of situations beyond your control. You may not have created the situations, but you did choose to become connected to them by choosing to make them part of your world. You are also choosing, by making them the first thing you do in each new day to bring into your day and underlying energy of stress and frustration.

Not sure what I mean here? Have you ever had a time when you suddenly felt lonely or angry for no apparent immediate reason? How about a time when your emotional response to a situation seems completely out of balance to the situation itself? That is what occurs when there’s undue stress in your system and your unconscious mind. That is what you are taking into your system by choosing to watch and think about this sort of information at the start of each day.

Think about it. Think about a day when you chose to wake up and spend time with people you love first thing in the morning without any stress. Think about how that changed your day. Why don’t you do that more often? Why do you wait for weekends to have a calm morning? Why do you wait for vacations to take good care of yourself upon rising? Why not start now?

So what can you do you might ask if you wish to be informed?

First, don’t start your day with television. There’s no need for your unconscious mind to begin your day with images, sounds, and thoughts that you have not created and have no control over. Why not start your day with something uplifting and peaceful? Maybe listen to music you enjoy as you drink your coffee. Perhaps you might try yoga or a meditation to start your day. Whatever you choose, let it be something you enjoy.

Second, try reading the newspaper instead of watching television. Unlike television news, a newspaper allows you to choose only the stories you want to hear and a doesn’t bombard you with images and sounds that buildup unhealthy energy in the unconscious mind.

And third, try a news fast for a few weeks and see how you feel differently. It may surprise you how much less stressful you feel when you choose the way to take in the news. You just may choose to limit yourself to the Sunday times.

Regardless of what you choose, it’s important to realize that your choices affect your feelings and perceptions of your world. Choose wisely.

Peace.
