I had the honor of working with a special woman over the past 6 months and she offered that I could share her story of healing.

I've changed the names for privacy.

Six months ago an extraordinary spirit called me. I'll call her Amanda. Amanda had heard of my work through her friends and asked if I would be her confidant through a challenging time. From the phone conversation, she chose not to disclose exactly what was occurring. My guidance said yes so we scheduled an appointment.

When she walked through my door I could see what was happening in her body.  As a medical intuitive, the shadows showed me a lot about what had brought her to this point.  As we talked, she told her story of how difficult it had been for her, dealing with a medical establishment that believed more in her death than her life and trying hard to be a source of support for her husband, children, parents and friends while she herself was feeling scared and alone.

We talked about how if she could live on a mountain, alone for six months by herself without the weight of other's around her, she could heal.  I offered her the solace of my office as a space to come when she needed it, and promised above all else to see her as the healed, whole and magical woman I knew she was and is.

We worked over the last six months in various ways.  Sometimes via phone, sometimes in her home, sometimes in my office, and sometimes at the hospital.  We did some bodywork, some hypnotherapy, some NLP and most of all, we did what we came to term 'light therapy'.  In this therapy we both surrounded her in light and stated the beliefs of healing that her soul needed to hear.  We encouraged her loved ones to do the same - especially when they were afraid. 

She called me when she knew she needed strength without fear - a key element for her healing - to support her and I have been honored to be that mirror of strength, the mirror of the belief in her healing process.

Last week she came into my office smiling.  It was the first time I'd seen her smile directly after a doctor's appointment and I wasn't quite sure what it was about.  She said her cancer was gone - completely and she started to cry.  Not tears of pain but tears of joy and relief. 

She later explained that what she was most relieved about was having to hold it up for all of those around her.  She said she wanted to start that healing process now - healing the part of her that went through this craziness.  She needed to feel whole again and now that her body was better, she needed to heal the emotional stress and pain that had been brought on by the endless poking, prodding and lack of compassion of the medical tests that she had been through.  I'm not saying that the nurses were anything but cordial, I am saying that everyone she went to had a lack of connection to them and she felt like she'd just been through the 'robot zone'.

She also asked that I help her to heal the relationships that had been disrupted by this event.  Her kids had been through so much and had had to become adults too quickly.  Her husband had been so stressed he had been put on anxiety meds during this time and her parents were shattered seeing their daughter sick.  She also was angry with some people who hadn't been supportive during this process and wanted to understand what had occurred and determine if those relationships were for her.

Above all, Amanda asked me to help her understand how to use this to help others.  We together hope this article begins the process of showing others who go through this - on either side - how much occurs during the process of healing and I hope that those reading this find the support they need in the process.
